Hmmm….

So, I’m curious about how often technorati updates.  I had searched for posts with the tag semls20, and my previous posting wasn’t showing up.  So, I double checked, and I had tagged it incorrectly (semls, not semls20).  I fixed it, and technorati still hasn’t picked it up.  It’s funny because I assumed it would grab it right away, but if technorati is like Google, then it probably doesn’t.  I believe Google (and correct me if I’m wrong about this) uses web crawlers to pick up links, keywords, sites, etc, so maybe my updated posting hasn’t been picked up yet?  I guess my only point here is that even in this information age, things don’t happen instantly like most people (including myself) assume they do…

    Hi Rachel,

WordPress uses some kind of services that pushes your post out to Technorati as well as search engines. In my case, it’s happened fairly quickly. I’m guessing it only pushes out the post when you originally create it and doesn’t push it out again when you edit it. This post came up in my technorati feed, but I don’t think I’ve seen your other post yet. I wonder if it will catch up eventually or if you only have that one-time chance to get your tag out to Technorati.
